Training Description

Join Kathy King and Candy Stemple for a 4-hour training that will help you understand the effect that domestic violence and other Adverse Childhood Experiences has on our children and how the resulting toxic stress impacts them. Learn how to document the behavior indicators children show and incorporate them into your court report. We will talk about how to word and support your recommendations so that the Magistrate will know what services to order . We will also work through a scenario to help make the process concrete.

This curriculum was presented at the 2015 National CASA Conference with an outstanding response and has been expanded and improved, incorporating Adverse Childhood Experiences. All CASA Volunteers will benefit from attending this training whether serving children exposed to violence or not.
