ProKids Young Professionals Hosts 7th annual Backpack Bash
Thursday, June 14th | 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Braxton Brewing | 27 W. 7th Street Covington, KY
Join PKYP for our annual school supply drive at Braxton Brewing. Proceeds from the evening will help us meet our goal of providing stocked backpacks for ProKids children, who are in the child protection system after being abused and neglected. These children can have significant challenges at school but ProKids helps them achieve their educational goals. These backpacks help them get their year off to a good start!
Can’t make it? You can pack a backpack!
Why I’m a PKYPer
My name is Carrie Gilbert, and I am a Youth Reentry Staff Attorney at the Children’s Law Center. I work with youth who have been involved in the juvenile justice and/or foster care systems. A few years ago, I became aware of ProKids and the work they do to support and advocate for children in the foster care system in Hamilton County.
I am the Social Chair of PKYP and a CASA volunteer. In these roles, I am surrounded my smart, thoughtful, passionate people who are committed to ensuring that foster children in Hamilton County have the resources they need to thrive. PKYP raises awareness of ProKids efforts through volunteering and social events. Our primary goal is to raise money to purchase school supplies for ProKids’ children. This year, we hope to pack 300 backpacks so that ProKids’ kids can start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
If you are searching for a way to get involved in the community and surround yourself with passionate young professionals, I encourage you to join PKYP. If you would like to take a leadership role in PKYP’s work, please consider joining our board. PKYP works hard to support the work of ProKids, and as a PKYP member, you can help make a difference in the lives of ProKids’ children. Join us!
