ProKids annual campaign donors, who traditionally give each December to support Hamilton County’s abused and neglected children, will have more impact this year. JTM Food Group has generously provided funds to match up to $50,000 in end-of-the-year donations.
JTM, headquartered in Harrison, which was honored this year with induction to the Goering Center’s Greater Cincinnati Family Business Hall of Fame, has been a longtime supporter of ProKids.
An international food-processing company, JTM’s leadership includes Jack, Joe, Tony and Jerry Maas, carrying on their family’s legacy. That commitment to family is what led JTM to support ProKids with this generous gift.
“Family means everything to us,” says Jack Maas, JTM Food Group chairman and director. “So many times, abused and neglected children in our community need a safe, permanent family in order to thrive. We are privileged to support ProKids and its volunteers as they work to make sure that happens for as many vulnerable children as possible.”
ProKids Community Development Director Jennifer McKettrick said the matching gift came at the perfect time. “The number of children who need a CASA Volunteer keeps increasing. It’s gone up 56 percent in the last two years. To serve as many waiting children as possible, we need the community’s support at this critical time,” she said.
Family owned and operated since 1980, JTM Food Group specializes in menu solutions that deliver superior results to the food service industry. Since 1981, ProKids has advocated for abused and neglected children by mobilizing the Greater Cincinnati community to break the vicious cycle of child abuse and neglect. ProKids recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to serve as ProKids CASA Volunteers who speak up for these children and guide them into safe environments where they can thrive. With staff CASA Managers and attorneys, and through alliances within the child protection system, ProKids works to create a new cycle of growing up safe and secure.
